IT seems that you can't make a major game sequel anymore without people getting upset about some feature or release date. Coming right off the heels of the NOL4D2 petition there is another one for StarCraft II. The issue is that Blizzard has decided not to include lan play StarCraft II. Start the riots.
Blizzard announced the decision because they feel it is not needed with the overhaul to the Battle.net system. While Battle.net is not currently finished Blizzard believes that it will become the one stop shop for all starcraft needs and you won't need the lan connection feature. Another major reason is there will be a huge stat tracking system that will allow players to track almost everything in the game. For that to happen you need to be on the internet and in games Battle.net can track.
The Petition isn't a "I hate you, why do you want me to kill myself" style. The author of it continuously gives the new battle.net system praise for what they hope to accomplish, talks about how it could erradicate other programs such as hamachi and iCCup. It talks about how lan won't damage any part of the game or allow for more piracy considering StarCraft I has reached top ten on NPD charts ten years after it's release. Last time I checked it was over 6000 signed petitions.

Moddb has an exclusive interview [Behind the Music] with Ed Harrison that will give you some insight to the equipment and collaboration needed to mix your interests together into a smooth track. If your interested in some backstory, another recent article on ModDB was published about The Shadow War. Very good read, make sure to have the NT Music Player open in the background while reading up on this mod.
If you live in the United States or Canada and have a Fileplanet account, you too can play the closed beta of the PC version of Section 8 (click). European Beta Signup can be found here. As I signed up, it brought me right to the download page so I dont think there is a huge line unless they are doing them in chunks. There are lots of download locations and its coming through very fast for me. I remember Varion saying he was worked on this game after coming back to the states many months ago.  I'm sure he is playing the beta right now.
Over at io9.com, Charlie Anders has written probably one of the best, most thoughtful, articulate moview reviews of all time. For example:
Oh, and I would warn you that there'll be spoilers in this review — except that, really, since I still have no idea what actually happened in this movie, I'm not sure how much I can spoil it.
Or this little gem...
Transformers: ROTF has mostly gotten pretty hideous reviews, but that's because people don't understand that this isn't a movie, in the conventional sense. It's an assault on the senses, a barrage of crazy imagery. Imagine that you went back in time to the late 1960s and found Terry Gilliam, fresh from doing his weird low-fi collage/animations for Monty Python. You proceeded to inject Gilliam with so many steroids his penis shrank to the size of a hair follicle, and you smushed a dozen tabs of LSD under his tongue. And then you gave him the GDP of a few sub-Saharan countries. Gilliam might have made a movie not unlike this one.
