How much is that gold you just got from that quest? Now how many in real dollars? By now everyone should know about the gold farmers (3-PG article) that farm gold or rare items to sell to players for real money. It's a business that is becoming very lucrative especially in foreign countries such as Korea, China, and Japan. Apparently some WoW fans have decided to wage an epic battle against the gold farmers in a very distant land called the federal courtroom.
Antonio Hernandez along with his attorney are filing suits to shut down
the gold farmers. They point to the license agreements that users must
agree to that state the user won't sell their items or gold for real
money. They are pushing for the suit to be filed as a class action
lawsuit, which means that every WoW user could technically sign up for
punitive damages if they can prove they were wronged.
"The real significance of this case is, `What are the rights of the
(virtual world) community members when they go online?'" said C.
Richard Newsome, Hernandez's attorney.

There's a new Star Wars movie hitting theatres this August, the 15th to be exact, that flew under my radar. I highly recommend checking out the trailer over at the Official site.
It's a CG movie based off of the Clone Wars, so if you loved the cartoon shorts, I'm sure it will fill that little niche you liked about it so much. It looks a little kiddie but I'll hold my reservations until I see more trailers and hear more about it.

Just released 1.0: Celestial Impact is a multiplayer first person shooter (FPS) taking place on various asteroids with spherical gravity. What makes this FPS really special is that the landscape is fully deformable in all directions. Apart from the regular weapon arsenal (a minigun, a shotgun, a grenade
launcher and a high-energy precision weapon) each player is always
equipped with the Dirtgun. This tool has two modes. The first is the
dig-mode. When using dig-mode which removes large chunks of
terrain from the landscapei and a build-mode which adds terrain in the form
of a pre-selected shape in front of the player. Its a lot of fun removing dirt from around your spawn to keep it safe or making bridges and tunnels around the map to block the other team and even digging caves to hide in
Upon playing Celestial Impact for the first time, It made me think I
was on my own little planet like the little prince cleaning out
volcano's. Celestial Impact has no flowers or volcano's, though it
does have glowing mushrooms for ambiance, crystal health and armor
buffs. floating balls of double damage and weapon pickups scattered
around your little asteroid.
"Once upon a time there was a little prince who lived on a planet that
was scarcely any bigger than himself, and who had need of a sheep..."
Download the small standalone 144MB game and try it for yourself. Snipa is hosting a server for 3-PG .. look for it.

Our game server admin QwertyAccess has been afk for a while and we now find out why. He has been working with a team of his peers in school to build an amazing robot called "The Game" in an international competition to collect tennis balls and deposit them into a bridge. Out of 91 teams from across the world, they placed second. Here is a list of competing teams and a short video of the competition. Check out their winning robot in the image on the left. Qwerty is the one holding the Robot.
The cool thing about it is how they built their robot to be defensive and knock out balls from the other robots. This really upset the other teams who got pretty mad and the judges called it "de-scoring" your opponent.
Congratulations QwertyAccess!

I was really excited when I wrote the article about Johnny Lee with the video where he was talking about the head tracking and he said it was going to be used in an up coming EA game, rumored to of been Boom Blox. EA hasn't released a reason behind the cut, only that it's gone. While it was only going to be an easter egg in Boom Blox it's still sad to see it pulled, I guess we can only hope it will surface later in another game.

Several UK residents noticed something very odd about their new Dell Vostro 1310 laptops. Dell repositioned the Z key one key over. It turns out the keyboard mistake wasn't limited to only a few unlucky UK residents but virtually everyone that bought the unit in the UK. The keyboard issue was found on Vostro 1310 and 1510.
Dell later issued a statement that they misshaped a limited number of units but that was proven to be false by unconfirmed sources. One can safely assume that Dell's refurbished manufacturer will have a very large stack of notebooks that will have to be fixed for free.
One of the customers by the name of Jake Gordon posted pictures of the unit and also put some notes and updates about his exchange process. At one point they told him that the keyboard issue was related to the motherboard and not the keyboard, even though the keyboard has misplaced keys. Also Mac users took to typing as fast as they could, bombarding the guys site telling him how much better Macs are. This is another reason that Dell should go up in flames and Mac users have more of an ego than hybrid driving residents of South Park. Smug alerts anyone?
