Gary Gygax passed away at his home in Wisconsin tuesday. Gary spawned one of the most arguably influential hobbies of the past 35 years when he co-created the roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons in 1974 and is considered to be one of the grandfathers of role playing.

In an interview with gamespy he told them that  "I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else. " and I think it would be hard to remember him any other way.

Both Penny Arcade and Order of the Stick have posted some fitting tribute comics.  If it's been a while I recommend grabbing some friends and  start by rolling 4d6 starting at the top.
