So the game has been out for a little bit and if you haven't gotten it and wondering if it was worth it, go buy it. The game stays true to its roots in every way and adds much more to the game. All of your favorite characters are back with some new ones. Even though some of the new characters are just duplicates you still have to love them.
The game play is very refined and doesn't try to use any of the gimmicky wii controls like shaking the wiimote. The action is too fast paced for that, even though you can set smash moves to a shake. No one does. The controls are just as simple as the last game yet there is still a long learning curve of advanced techniques.
The biggest addition is a more RPG like single player mode in the
Subspace Emissary mode. The game gives single players a little more
depth when they can't get their friends to come over and play. That is
also why Nintendo introduced the wifi connection so you can play smash
bros with anyone anywhere. You can connect to generic 2 minute map for
general play or you can share friend codes and play with your friends
and customize the rules. With friends even against the computer it is
much more enjoyable because 1 out of every 5 matches seems to lag and
move slower than drunken old lady with a bad hip going up 21 flights of
stairs blindfolded.
Overall the game is a great addition to the library and even though it
doesn't reinvent the wheel, who would want the great game chemistry to
change. Definitely IM and we can swap friend codes when you aren't
playing TF2. And if you were wondering who I play as, Kirby,
Metaknight, and King Dedede all the way.
And for those of you who wish there was a community out there just like we have with 3-pg, you are in luck with Online Brawl Community.
They have a very elaborate system set up with very easy instructions.
They even have a video walking you through the process. It doesn't get
easier. I was going to count the members but I lost count, so you
won't be wanting for friends. Brawl plays best when you can play
multiplayer and multiplayer plays best when you have a huge community.
And as a final note the matches you make in friend matches are
customizable so if 2 minute death match isn't favorite (does anyone
like it) you get more out of the match. I hope to meet all of you in
Smash Bros. as well so I can beat you with your own power.
