The moment everyone's been waiting for draws closer. The first major update to Team Fortress 2 since is first launched. We are finally given an in depth look at what the Valve team has in store for our beloved Medic and the madness that'll come from the new Payload game mode.
Let's go over what we already know. We've got 36 new achievements coming our way that focus on the roots of being a Medic. We've got 3 new weapons that can be unlocked as we progress through that list of achievements . And we've got the new map Goldrush coming our way that'll usher in the new game made, Payload.
How do we get the new weapons though, you ask? Simple! You unlock
achievements, that's how! And looking at a few of the achievements it's
obvious that unlocking them all will be no simple task. 12 achievements
will get you The Blutauger;
a new syringe gun that trades off it's ability to cause criticals for
the ability to drain the victim's health on impact. 24 achievements
will get you The Critzcrieg; "a new medigun that will rapid
fire critical rockets." I'm not sure what that means but I think
everyone can agree with me that whatever the case, spies will cry. And
finally, unlocking all 36 new achievements will get you... The Ubersaw;
a saw that converts melee damage into ubercharge. There you have it,
the new arsenal that'll bless the medic. Let's see how fast we can
unlock these beauties!
Oh and I almost forgot one of the most important things! The new
map, Goldrush; the map that'll usher in a new game mode! Somewhere in
the vast list of TF2 servers you can find a server or two that hold
very early of versions Payload. These early versions were created by
eager fans that couldn't wait till the release of Goldrush. And from
what I've played of these somewhat unbalanced versions you're all in
for a great surprise when we finally get the real thing.
