Blizzard plans Universal Achievements |

So it might not be okay to be in the top of the ladders in diablo II if you don't also have a level 70 shadow priest and you're in the leader board on Starcraft. Blizzard is announcing a universal achievement system that ranks your Blizzard identity and not just your individual game identity. While that sounds novel, other applications have similar methods, such as our own steam with its Steam Rating and achievements in game as well.
They plan to port these into the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion pack and into the extremely highly anticipated Starcraft II and Diablo III. Blizzard hopes to bring gamers that may not traditionally try their other titles to try and experience more of what Blizzard has to offer.
Seeing how crazy we get with TF2 achievements, there is no doubt that the WoW crowd will eat them up. They are however a fun addition that only adds value to the games even it the value may not mean much to anyone else.
