Three Point Games is proud to announce a great new feature.
Gamer Capital Gamer Capital is a (virtual) currency which can be earned and accrued in many ways to buy items from the site or exchange for site enhancing features. Objective: A system to reward people for their contributions and a portal to trade their points for items or site enhancing features. This works from new people who just signed up to the site all the way up to staff positions. The Goal: Encourage contributions by rewarding summiteers with GC (Gamer Capital) that could trade for swag, games or peripherals, web services, beta slots, reserved slot to our game servers and cold hard cash. Reward server regulars (seeders) by giving a percentage of points to the amount of time they spend playing on a game server or completing tasks specific to a game (capturing, killing, helping noobs). Usage: Members either purchase GC for a specific item that we offer, or accrue GC by submitting news, articles, tutorials, art or similar media. Buying or earning GC gets you access to items like Reserved Slots to our game servers, web services like FTP hosting and _____. Accruing GC by publishing media gets you access to the same services and increases your permission level to the front end site to allow you to upload and publish your own content. New members start out with 5 GC and can use their initial GC to upload images and contribute news.

I like the way it sounds now, clears up a lot of things.
It's a good idea of having news admins, I think that would make things run a lot smoother. But so how are we getting all of the material goods? Are we getting sponsors/ads? |

Initially I thought I would buy them locally at Fry's or a BestBuy but as I got to thinking about it, I dont want to hassle with warranties or shipping.
I am thinking now that I would let the users pick from items at a few popular, reputable online stores and we would purchase it for them and have it shipped to them. This gives the advantage of not having to deal with warranties because they would have the invoice and could send it back if it did not work. Also it puts more value in the purchase when people get a chance to spend their GC wisely on a variety of items rather than a few select items we had in a 'treasure chest'. We'll have to see if people want to use it to buy stuff, or just get the cash. I'll still get the SWAG made up here locally. -------------------- "Kevlar vests never fail. I'm having a problem though. I registered and paid $10 to be allowed to get a reserved slot in my favorite TF2 server, but clicking the option in the main website to reserve a server tells me I don't have enough GC. I have 105, and I need 100. Im wondering if the price was raised, if the computer doesnt know how that 105 is over 100, or if this is an error.

try purchasing the slot agian. Half of it is getting the gamer capital, the other half is exchanging the GC to the reserved slot.
Since you have 105 GC, you should not be sent to the paypal site. It looks as though you haven't tied your forum account to our game servers. You can do so at 3-pg.com/usercp/ and just entering your SteamID.

We havent set up one of those net-cafe swag sites because it ends up costing users too much and we have no control over the quality. I am going to get t-shirts (and iron on decals), window stickers and custom gaming gloves (lol) here locally and put them in the shopping cart this spring. I have a bunch of headcrab hats I bought for 3-PG ready to purchase but were redoing part of the backend website so I had to take it down for a bit. They are mainly for the admins, but they will be available to anyone with enough GC.

ok i got it to work now> But i donated $30.00 to the server after paying it sayed i had 100 gc credits. but now it say i only have 5 gc so whats with that? and how do i get a reserved slot? I'm just trying to understand what to do here.

It looks like you used the Donation button instead of the Reserved Slot button and got processed as a donation. I have converted your donation into Gamer Capital for you to get the Reserved Slot. 10$=100GC=reserved slot.
All you need to do now is goto your Game CP at the top of the page in the forums and ensure your steamid is correct there. It looks ok. Next just hit the big green Reserved Slot (<- or here) button on the front page and it will process your GC into a Reserved Slot for 3 months. You will not be directed to paypal since you got enough GC. The Reserved slot will take effect upon the next map change on your favorite 3-PG server. Send me a PM if anything goes wrong.
