Metro 2033 is a post-apocalyptic shooter set in the subway tunnels of Moscow in 2033. The game tells the story of Metro 2033, a book by Dmitry Glukhovsky, through a first-person medium. The game has received some acclaim for its immersive story and minimal HUD. Although the story isn't quite as original as it is wonderfully woven into the look and feel of its world; in my opinion, this is the best way to experience the story without actually reading the book. With each unique metro station the immersion only deepens and then is brutally crushed every time you meet a supposed "ally".

So... if you haven't seen me in awhile it is because of three reasons.  Spring break, which means I work a lot and don't get time off because everyone else does.  It's tax time and I always seem to owe money.  And Final Fantasy XIII came out.  (Disclosure: I haven't beaten it yet.)  I had a coworker take time off to play the game non-stop and he beat it in 7 days, but that's besides the point.  I thought I would share with you my review before I beat it and afterwards to see if anything has changed.

If I were a teddy bear, I would have blown a stitch or two if that happened during a nice picinic lunch.  If your a Naughty Bear, you would have been pointing and laughing because all the other bears bullied you on the magic island where you live.  Get your revenge and be rewarded for especially "deviant and maniacal" behavior will get various weapons and traps to earn "Naught Points" in this game.

If the learning curve of the original Supreme Commander proved a little too steep for you, then you'll find a lot to like about the sequel. This is about the best way I can put the dumbing down of Supreme Commander 2. The pace is faster, the factions more diverse, and it's a whole lot easier to get the impressively large and powerful experimental units out onto the field, making for an experience that's more inviting and immediately rewarding. Specifically, the Tier levels from the first game have been entirely done away with. Instead, all upgrading now takes place on a tech tree.

Unfortunatelly this has led to some balance issues in multiplayer that have been partially addressed in this latest update. These changes were necessary to make the multiplayer games way more balanced and bearable.
